Welcome party, Monday 23. 8.

The welcome party takes place in the courtyard of the Faculty of Informatics. It includes light snacks (sandwitches, cheese, fruit, etc.), excellent Czech beer and wines from the area around Brno (one of the best regions of the world for white wine) selected by the wine board of the organising committee.

Conference trip to Valtice, Wednesday 25.8.

Chateau Valtice Valtice is a small charming town on the border of Czech Republic and Austria, known to be the “Capital of the Wine” of the excellent South-Moravia region. It is part of the UNESCO world heritage cultural landscape Lednice-Valtice, an artifical forrest-park area created by Lichtenstein princes in between of their summer seat (Lednice) and main (winter) seat (Valtice).

The conference social dinner takes place in the inner courtyard of the Valtice chateau, a former main seat of the Lichtenstein princes, part of the UNESCO world heritage. In addition to all food, non-alcoholic drinks and beer participants will have a full access to the National Saloon of Wine (see the next paragraph).

Chateau Valtice, cellars of National Saloon of Wine, social dinner, wine tasting National Saloon of Wine is a Czech top wine competition. In order to register for this competition, the wine must go through one of the regional nomination competitions. Every year, at most 100 of the best registered wines are selected. These wines are stored in the Saloon of Wine in the cellars under the Valtice chateau. Participants of the conference have a free and unlimited access to the cellars (right next to the inner courtyard) and can consume any amount of all the wines of the National Saloon.

The transport from Brno to Valtice, and back, will be provided (depending on the number of registered participants) either by busses, or by a historical train with a steam engine.
